Features and improvements released recently
Mobile app for iOS and Android
Access Datar on the go with the new mobile app, available for both iOS and Android. The app brings the most-used platform features to your phone or tablet so you can stay productive away from your desk.
Key features: Submit and approve requests, log timesheets, upload photos and documents, manage tasks and view project boards, receive push notifications, and look up team contact details.
Offline support: Draft requests, log hours, and browse recently viewed items even without an internet connection. Changes sync automatically when you reconnect.
Download from the App Store or Google Play. Sign in with your existing Datar credentials — no separate account required.
Procurement module
Manage the full procure-to-pay lifecycle from a single module. The new Procurement section brings structured workflows for every stage of the purchasing process, from identifying demand through to delivery and payment.
Tendering
Publish tenders with multi-stage evaluation gates. Define administrative, technical, and pricing criteria to ensure fair and compliant supplier selection.
Supplier portal
Suppliers register, submit bids, and track outcomes through a dedicated portal. Internal teams evaluate and score submissions without switching tools.
Purchase order management
Create, approve, issue, and track purchase orders through their full lifecycle. Link POs to tenders, contracts, and budget lines for end-to-end traceability.
Budget tracking
Monitor allocated, committed, and actual spend in real time. Receive alerts when budgets approach their thresholds so you can act before overspending.
Supplier scorecards: Rate suppliers across quality, timeliness, communication, compliance, and value. Use historical scores to inform future procurement decisions and shortlist preferred vendors.
Keyboard shortcuts
Work faster with keyboard shortcuts across the entire platform. Power users can navigate, create, and manage items without reaching for the mouse.

Platform improvements
Enhancements that make your daily work easier
Enhanced search
Search now covers all modules at once. Find files, tasks, requests, and people from a single search bar. Results are ranked by relevance and grouped by module so you can quickly jump to the right item. Recent searches and saved filters make repeat look-ups effortless.
Smarter notifications
Notifications are now grouped by topic so you can focus on what matters most. Mute individual items, mark threads as read in bulk, and customise delivery preferences per module. Digest emails summarise activity you may have missed.
File previews
Preview documents, images, spreadsheets, and PDFs directly in the browser without downloading them first. Supported formats include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and common image types. Navigate multi-page documents with built-in pagination.
Team calendar
See your team's availability at a glance. Approved leave and public holidays are automatically shown on the shared calendar. Filter by department or team, and toggle between daily, weekly, and monthly views to plan ahead.
Improved permissions dialogue
The redesigned sharing dialogue makes it clearer who has access to a resource and at what level. Add individuals or groups, set expiry dates on temporary access, and review the full permission history in one place.
Better form validation
Forms across the platform now validate fields as you type instead of only on submission. Clear inline messages explain exactly what needs correcting, and required fields are highlighted before you attempt to submit.

Features currently in development
Build personalised dashboards by choosing from a library of widgets — charts, counters, recent activity feeds, and task summaries. Arrange them in any layout, save multiple dashboards for different contexts (e.g. daily stand-up vs. monthly review), and share them with your team so everyone sees the metrics that matter most to your organisation.
Generate detailed reports on spending, project progress, attendance, procurement, and more. Apply customisable filters, group data by date range or department, and export to CSV, Excel, or PDF. Schedule recurring reports to be delivered to your inbox automatically so you never have to pull the same data twice.
Set up automated actions based on triggers — for example, automatically assign a reviewer when a request is submitted, send a reminder when a task has been idle for three days, or notify procurement when inventory falls below a threshold. Build automations with a visual rule builder — no coding required.
Get intelligent suggestions for task assignments, budget forecasts, and resource allocation based on historical patterns. The system learns from your organisation's data to surface anomalies, predict bottlenecks, and recommend actions — helping managers make informed decisions faster without trawling through spreadsheets.
Connect Datar with Slack, Microsoft Teams, Google Workspace, and other tools your team already uses. Receive Datar notifications in your preferred messaging app, sync calendar events, and attach files from cloud storage providers directly into requests and tasks — all without leaving the tools you know.
